Even when I choose to do all the things to keep my mind healthy, I will misstep and have an unpleasant day.

Before I thought it was supposed to be this magical place where everything got fixed.
In the past, it has been a source of contention with my husband but somehow this summer it became an unexpected source of healing.
So why in the world do I give thanks each day I’m under the weather, fighting to stay engaged in the world around me? Because I lose my voice. In the throes of a good cold my voice is shot and it physically hurts to raise it above normal talking level.
I received a text earlier this week. It read, “I just found that last night …..committed suicide.” Shock. Devastation. How does this happen?
A final thought, addressed to those living with PTSD: What I’ve learned…..We have a new normal Some days I think, “I’m cured.” Why do we do that to ourselves?
